People sitting in roadside dhabas are unable to understand how three judges of Allahabad High Court sitting in their air-conditioned rooms can set aside toms of documents and evidences and deliver a verdict based on 'faith and belief'. It reminds me of judgements in countries in Africa where courts are not only biased but cannot see beyond the 'directed line'. It is farce that Indians cannot use. It is a judgement which will make every Indian afraid of Land grabbers and trouble makers, who can claim to be the real owner on the basis of 'belief'.
When L K Advani began his so called fake 'rath yatra' (he was not riding rath but a bus, which was made in the shape of rath) and Hindu fanatics coloured every wall saffron with slogans like 'Mandir Wahin Banayeinge' , it was jingoism at its best. It heralded the Sindhi man on top of Indian political landscape and his party could surely multiply its strength in the Lok Sabha after setting India on fire with hate speeches and racial profiling of Muslims. Congress Party, which has always men like Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Madan Mohan Malviya and Lala Lajpat Rai in its rank, seized the opportunity and allowed the destruction of mosque despite the order from the apex court to maintain status quo. At that time Hindu fanatics who used terror tactics to destroy mosque declared they would defy any court order and that faith was supreme!
Allahbad High Court and its judges have succumbed to majoritarian pressure in delivering judgement on same basis as espoused by terrorists who demolished the mosque --also a 'historical monument'. This is Indian judgement, which will never go against the majority. If court is there to upheld majoritarian acts of omission and commission, then minorities will have to only pray to almighty GOD for justice. There is no other way.
Something about Ram. Where was he born? Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi has very reasonably questioned this Aryan ploy to spread superstition in India. Mr. Karunanidhi who is known for upholding reason over faith has asked how can court decide on Ram's birth roughly 17.28 lakhs year ago. "A court is able to accurately pinpoint the birthplace of Lord Ram, who is said to have lived during 'Kriti Yuga', but nothing is known about the manner in which the great Chola emperor Raja Raja Chola died or even where he is buried..we can only bemoan this state of affairs," the DMK leader worte in the party mouthpiece. Earlier, he has questioned Ram's existence during the Sethusamudram controversy. Mr. Karunanidhi has very rightly alarmed us about the way Aryan superstitions are being spread on the basis of belief. "While the truth about Dravidian history is available in the outcome of scientific research by many scholars, Aryan culture, which sought to suppress the Dravidian race, has been able to spread superstition among the public without any elementary proof," he said.
Famous Indian artists Raja Ravi Varma, who is credited with introducing Aryan gods and godesses ( Laxmi, Sarswati etc.,) to Indian homes thanks to his Lithographic press, obviously skipped Ram. Tulsidas, who wrote 'Ram Charitra Manas' in Avadhi, is responsible for making his name famous, did not mention any place of birth. And as per believers of Ram, there were 27 spots on which Ram is said to have born! I am astonished as to how Justice D V Sharma can declare demolished Babri Masjid site as 'the birth place of Ram'. Media has highlighted that the court has based its judgement on the basis of 2003 report of ASI. It is well known fact the then report of ASI was fabricated and doctored report which was rejected by Historians including R S Sharma, and Irfan Habib.
And to deliver this kind of biased verdict, court took 60 years! It happens only in India. While government claims to work towards ' Satyameva Jayate' or Truth Must Prevail, actually truth is suppressed and it is falsehood all around. Is there any hope from any corner? The Supreme Court has got a chance to provide justice to Indians, and if it fails in its testing hour, it will be falsehood all around. Allah save us from this falsehood! And my fellow Indians, let us not discuss birth of Ram, who is god to some, king to some, hero to some, ideal to some and Maryada Purushottam to many! Let us take pledge to leave it as it is; a character born of mythology but embodied in tradition and belief of Aryans.
